Winter Insights & Mindset Shift
Winter is a season of restoration in Chinese medicine, a time to build reserves and protect your body from the elements. For me, Winter dryness has been a real struggle postpartum—made worse by breastfeeding. Dry eyes, throat, nasal passages, and skin are common signs of Blood Deficiency during this season. Here’s what’s been helping me stay nourished and balanced:
Bone broth and soups: Hydrating, nutrient-dense, and warming
Evening foot soaks: Add Epsom salts to soothe and rehydrate
Butter, quality meat, and good fats: Essential for rebuilding and moisturizing from the inside out
Daily oiling rituals: I use homemade goldenrod-infused olive oil to nourish my skin and calm the nervous system, but sesame oil and tallow are some of the best!
Electrolytes: Staying hydrated is key—I love using LMNT electrolytes (and here’s my discount code to try them: LMNT)
Remember: slow down, keep warm, and focus on nourishment this season. 💜
I’d love to hear from you!
