🌿 Seasonal Beverages to Restore Energy Without Draining Reserves
As we move into Spring, our Liver energy begins to stir, which can lead to feelings of irritability, stress, and emotional stagnation. These teas are designed to gently move Qi, calm the Shen, and nourish Blood without overstimulating your nervous system.
☕ Shen-Calming Nourishment Tea
A gentle, grounding blend to ease overwhelm and settle the nervous system. This tea supports deep relaxation while replenishing Qi and Blood, helping to stabilize emotions and bring a sense of calm to your postpartum experience.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 tsp skullcap (calms an overactive mind, eases tension, and supports restful sleep)
1 tsp rooibos (rich in minerals, nourishes Blood, and gently supports adrenal recovery)
½ tsp astragalus (builds Qi and strengthens postpartum recovery, preventing exhaustion)
½ tsp goji berries (nourishes Blood, supports vision, and improves sleep quality)
1.5–2 cups water
Directions:
Add astragalus to a small pot with 1.5–2 cups of water. Bring to a simmer and let it gently cook for 10 minutes to extract its deep tonic properties.
Remove from heat, then add skullcap, rooibos, and goji berries. Cover and steep for 10–15 minutes.
Strain and sip slowly, letting the warmth soothe your nervous system.
Drink in the evening or anytime you feel overwhelmed and need a moment to reset.
Best you if: You experience anxiety, poor sleep, or fatigue leading up to your period. Can help to extend a short cycle.
🍵 Blood & Qi Harmonizing Tea
This blend gently moves stagnation while deeply nourishing, helping to relieve frustration, irritability, and emotional tension. It’s perfect for postpartum mothers who feel emotionally stuck or depleted.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 tsp rose petals (soothes Liver Qi, promotes emotional flow, and relieves stress-related tension)
1 tsp nettles (rich in iron and minerals, replenishes Blood, and supports postpartum recovery)
½ tsp milky oats (nourishes the nervous system, eases adrenal fatigue, and promotes emotional resilience)
½ tsp orange peel (gently moves stagnant Qi, supporting digestion and emotional balance)
1.5 cups water
Directions:
Bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat.
Add nettles, milky oats, and orange peel to the water, cover, and steep for 15 minutes.
After a few minutes, once the water has slightly cooled, add rose petals to preserve their delicate properties.
Strain and enjoy warm.
Sip this tea when feeling emotionally blocked, tense, or fatigued. It’s especially helpful before journaling or winding down in the evening.
Best for you if: You experience PMS-related mood swings, clotting, irregular cycles, or painful cramping. Can help to regulate a long or delayed cycle.
🥛 Rooibos & Chamomile Latte
A creamy, mineral-rich blend that deeply relaxes the mind and body. This latte is my go-to for calming emotional overwhelm, soothing digestion, and promoting deep, restorative sleep.
Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 tsp rooibos (rich in minerals, nourishes Blood, gently supports adrenal recovery)
1 tsp chamomile (calms the Shen, eases digestive tension, and promotes deep relaxation)
½ tsp cinnamon (warms digestion, moves Qi, and provides gentle comfort in times of stress)
½ cup hot water
1 cup warm milk of choice (oat, almond, or raw milk for added nourishment and grounding)
½ tsp stevia or monk fruit (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Directions:
Steep rooibos and chamomile in ½ cup hot water for 5–10 minutes.
Warm the milk separately, then froth if desired.
Strain the tea and mix with the warm milk. Stir in cinnamon and optional sweetener.
Sip slowly, letting the warmth settle your mind and body.
Perfect for unwinding in the evening, reducing stress-related digestive discomfort, and preparing the body for deep sleep.
Best for you if: You deal with stress-related irregular cycles, digestive issues, or cold-type cramps (dull, aching cramps that feel better with heat).
Try one—or all three—and let your body breathe.
🐍 2025: Year of the Wood Snake – Intuition & Intentional Living
The Year of the Wood Snake brings a powerful energy of deep transformation, wisdom, and renewal. Snakes shed their skin to grow, and this year invites you to do the same—letting go of what no longer serves you and stepping into a more aligned, intuitive way of living.
🌱 The Influence of Wood: The Wood element adds a sense of steady growth, resilience, and vision. It encourages long-term strategy, healing, and expansion, but only when rooted in clarity and intention. Just like a tree grows by extending its branches without depleting its roots, this year asks you to be mindful of where you invest your energy.
🧘♀️ Trust & Protect Your Reserves: The Snake’s wisdom teaches discernment—knowing when to move forward, when to pause, and when to retreat for rest and renewal. If you’ve been pulled in too many directions, feeling scattered or exhausted, this is your invitation to slow down, reflect, and focus on what truly nourishes you—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
✨ Transformation Through Intentional Living: This year isn't about impulsive change but thoughtful transformation. It asks: What patterns are ready to be released? Where can you create more alignment in your life? How can you move with greater ease and self-trust?
2025 is the year to refine your path, trust your instincts, and step fully into your power.
